Living in a hilly region about 250 km east of Kathmandu , Chepang is one of Nepal's most backward indigenous groups.  Farming alone is not enough for them to sustain their families, so they also depend on hunting, fishing and collecting Githa and Vyakur (shoots and roots), wild yams, catch bats and wild birds. Of late, they have also started working as manual workers in towns near their settlements.

child marriage is the main social problems of this community . There are many other social evils still prevail in the village like girl trafficking , children trafficking , human organ trafficking , domestic violence etc .

That is why I have been running an educational scholarship program here for the past few years . I have been giving them books , copies , bags , jacket , pants , shoes and some snacks etc . Dr. Stephen Goetz’s invaluable contribution has also been in this project .

Nowadays , students number is increasing than last year . They want to read and learn in school happily . All the students and their parents very happy . Now , there are altogether 188 students are taking education from early class to grade V .

If I get more support , other extremely poor children in this area can also be included in this scheme and their future can be brightened .
